Zhang Jigang, Deputy Secretary of Party Group of Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Executive Vice President of Shandong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, headed a working delegation to visit the Philippines, Indonesia and India from November 5th to 14th.
During the visit, the delegation introduced China's 19th CPC national congress, Shandong’s economic and social development and the shift of economic growth engines in Shandong to relevant countries. In the Philippines, the delegation had a work meeting with Ilocos Norte Province, Shandong’s sister province, on implementing the action plan signed by Mr. Wang Junmin during his visit in March and deepening of sister province cooperation. In India, the delegation attended the 6th China-India Forum and signed a MOU with China India Friendship Association Karnataka Branch on enhancing friendly cooperation. The delegation also visited Association for Philippines-China Understanding, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and China India Friendship Association Delhi Branch and other friendly organizations to discuss exchanges and cooperation in such areas as people-to-people, culture and youth exchanges, thus effectively opening up new communication channels.
Officials of the Committee for Ethnic, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs of Shandong Provincial People’s Congress in the delegation also conducted meetings with local parliaments to deepen mutual understanding and establish contact.
