From November 19 to 28, Li Qun, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, headed the Shandong government delegation to visit Germany, Belgium and Oman. In Germany, Li Qun attended events commemorating the 30th anniversary of Shandong-Bavaria sister relationship, and met with Dr. Beate Merk, European Union and International Affairs Minister of Bavaria and other offcials. The delegation held the German Week activities, and visited Bosch, Airbus Helicopters and other Global 500 companies or well-known multinational enterprises. Over 10 important cooperation agreements were made between the enterprises of the two sides. Li Qun also visited sites for major events such as G20 summit in hamburg.
In Belgium, Li Qun and Xavier Prats Monné, Director-General of the EU Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, carried out in-depth discussion on expanding the trade of food and agricultural products. Li also met with Carl Decaluwe, Governor of West Flanders, initiating the provincial level exchanges between Shandong and Belgium.
In Oman, Li Qun met with Yahya Al-Jabri, Chairperson of the Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm (SEZAD) and other officials to talk about cooperation in such areas as business and energy. During his visit, Li Qun actively promoted the guiding principles of the 19th CPC National Congress and introduced Shandong’s economic and social development. The visit has achieved fruitful results.
