In the afternoon of December 4, Liu Jiayi, Secretary of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, met with Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco, and his delegation in Jinan.
Liu Jiayi extended welcome to the guests. He said that Shandong is implementing the guiding principles of the 19th CPC national congress, facilitating the supply-side structural reform, accelerate the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones and developing such key industries as high-end equipment manufacturing, information industry, new energy and new materials and healthcare. These efforts have provided greater market and room for future cooperation between the two sides. The cooperation agreement Cisco signed with Jinan Innovation Zone and Inspur which focuses on networking will promote intensified industrial development and upgrading of Shandong’s economy. He hoped that Cisco could actively join Shandong’s development, and deepen cooperation with Shandong in IT, smart city and other areas.
Mr. Robbins thanked CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Shandong provincial government for their support and help. He said that Cisco has been devoted to integrating technology with local economic development and community work, and has made fruitful achievements in healthcare and education. The purpose of the agreement signed today is to attract more entrepreneurs to this innovation platform and jointly advance the development of smart city and industrial internet. Cisco will work with its partners to promote networking in Shandong.
Vice Governor Ren Airong, Zhang Jigang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Executive Vice President of Shandong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and other officials of relevant government departments also attended the meeting.
