On September 28, the Reception in Celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Award Ceremony for Honorary Citizen of Shandong Province and Ambassador of Friendship of Shandong Province was held in Jinan. Ren Airong, Vice Governor of Shandong Province attended and addressed the reception. She also awarded foreign friends with Honorary Citizen of Shandong Province and Ambassador of Friendship of Shandong Province.
Ren Airong extended greetings to compatriots from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as to overseas Chinese, who are working and living in Shandong. She also expressed appreciation for foreign friends who have long been supporting Shandong's development. She said, during the process of opening-up and exchanging with various countries around the world, Shandong and these countries have established profound friendship and achieved win-win results. She welcomed foreign friends to invest in and cooperate with Shandong.
Wei Huaxiang, Deputy Secretary-General of Shandong Provincial Government, presided over the reception. Xue Qingguo, Director-General of Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and President of General Office of Shandong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, announced the Provincial Government's decision to award 6 foreign friends with Honorary Citizenship of Shandong Province and bestow 40 foreign friends with the title of Ambassador of Friendship of Shandong Province.
Toyama Shigeru, Consul-General for Japan in Qingdao, Nabhasporn Bhuttarichval, Consul-General for Thailand in Qingdao, Sang Seung Man, Deputy Consul-General for Republic of Korea, representatives of compatriots from Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan, representatives of overseas Chinese, foreign experts, and of foreign students, representatives of institutions of foreign countries in Shandong Province, attended the reception.
